Highland calf that I photographed in late July, early August on a trip to Scotland.

A trip to Scotland in mid-summer provided some much-needed inspiration. Some of my favorite subjects were the Highland cows.

Highland cow in Scotland

So, I took my paintbrush and made a Highland cow come to life on a piece of slate.

The piece is 9 inches by 10 inches and is available for $25. Shipping is extra.

Another slate sign available for sale is a 12 inch by 24-inch pumpkin themed piece. The cost is $45 and shipping is extra.

I didn’t have many monarch visitors this year. Perhaps a sign was what they needed. This 20 by 10-inch slate is available for $35. Shipping is additional.

I was able to get two styles of calendars printed so far. The Nature of Things general calendar will feature more seasonal type photos.

The hummingbird calendars are for the birds and filled with hummingbirds. Lots of the photos are the birds on the feeders. I would have liked to get more feeding on flowers, but some of the hummingbirds’ favorites didn’t bloom this year. I tried a new printer this year. So, the calendar days start on Monday instead of Sunday and no holidays are marked. Pricing will be around $15. I am still working on trying to get them out into a couple of places. They can be ordered by emailing me at saapple@zoominternet.net or messaging Applegate Slates on Facebook. Shipping will be extra.

Meanwhile, we are in the midst of my favorite season. I have acquired a bigger printer and can print up to 11 by 14-inch photos. Again, interested parties can email or message me.
